Front End WordPress Developer / Designer Job Description
Successful, well-established, privately held US-based marketing organization is seeking a dynamic, resourceful, and experienced Web Developer with wordpress experience to join our team. You will mostly be Creating, Updating and Maintaining wordpress sites. This is an excellent opportunity to join a talented team within a very stable organization. Web Developer is a full time, permanent, direct hire opportunity with no travel requirement! Work from home!
Salary: $4/hr – $6/hr depending on experience. Hourly through Odesk.
Hours: A web designer normally works between 37 and 40 hours a week, 9am to 5.30pm USA (Miami, Florida time) EST, Monday to Friday. See: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html
Note: That would be the night shift in the philippines from 9 pm to 5:30 am. Night shift is required because you will have to chat with team members in real-time during our working hours. Additional hours may be required to meet deadlines, which could include evenings and weekends. You will be paid for those hours.
Skills Preferred:
You must have a very reliable high speed connection to the internet.
MUST HAVE a Portfolio of Web work – we want to see the sites you have worked on.
3+ years wordpress web development experience
Strong skills in creating and modifying WordPress Templates (like from themeforest.net)
Strong skills in HTML/CSS
Strong skills in responsive (mobile) design
Skilled in debugging and problem solving
Intermediate Photoshop/Photo Editing skills
Basic to Intermediate PHP language skills
Basic understanding of WordPress Network (Multisite)
Basic understanding of UI/UX principles
Working knowledge of MySQL/PHPMyadmin
Have good interpersonal and communication skills (an easy going personality with a sense of urgency.)
Be adaptable and able to pick up new techniques. Keep up to date with advances in computer technology and how this affects the business environment.
Applicant should have a good grounding in web development and internet technology.
Be able to work on your own or with a team
Be able to work to tight deadlines
Be thorough and precise in your work
Be able to multi-task
Be aware of international web standards and protocols

Eye for design
Strong English language skills – you should be able to communicate with your co-workers clearly.

Experience with Jira a plus
Developing wordpress Plugins a plus
JavaScript, jQuery knowledge a plus
Graphic Design skills is a plus
Responsibilities:
You will be working with our existing Filipino dev team
You will be responsible for the development of websites.
Establish the purpose of the website based upon its target audience
You will be involved with all aspects of a website; how the site works and how it looks.
Identify the type of content the site will host
Determine any functionality that the site must support
Give guidance on plugins or ways to solve problems.
You will also be involved with the maintenance and update of an existing sites.
You will be working with wordpress templates, and are expected to either design from scratch, or by adapting existing templates or paid templates to meet business requirements
You may be asked to do user testing to test the website and identify any technical problems
upload the site onto a server. You must have a very reliable high speed connection to the internet.
You will have to collaborate with web developers on our team.
