Project Engineer – Manila – GCG Management Consulting

Job Description / Requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Responsible for Solar Projects, including, but not limited to, project planning, design, system installation, routine and preventive maintenance
•Work with the Project Team and Top Management to develop and construct safe and quality solar-PV projects within the estimated budget while generating acceptable profit margin
•Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements

JOB DUTIES:
1. Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors
oImplement the pre-construction quality plan
oObtain and maintain all necessary regulatory and construction permits
oWork with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
oDevelop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
oManage, create, and distribute contract documents
oEstablish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
oIncorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
2. Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
oImplement three-phase inspection system
oEstablish reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and any off-site testing procedures
oNotify the Project Manager and Superintendent promptly of test results or inspection items that do not conform to contract requirements
3. Manage submittals
oSet up register in accordance with project specifications (Obtain the customer/architect’s approval)
oPrepare project-specific transmittal forms
oCoordinate the packaging, review, and processing of submittals
oExpedite submittals to ensure material deliveries are in sync with the project schedule
oCommunicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers
oIssue submittal requirement letters that outline packaging and processing requirements
oProvide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect
oCoordinate details of various subcontractors, including verifying insurance, preparing paperwork, and requesting final payment from Finance
4. Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
oDefine and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-build construction documents
oIncorporate subcontractor as-built documentation in the procedures for revising or updating contract documents
5. Other duties as assigned, including:
oDetermine alternative work methods as needed
oCoordinate safety and compliance for all team member
oMaintain schedule of timelines and follow through until completion

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Requirements Analysis, Design Skills (Single Line Diagram), Project Management, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Supervision, CAD Skills, CAD/CAM Circuit Design, SketchUp program
•Must be a graduate of Electrical Engineering with active PRC license
•Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer, experience in solar-PV or renewable energy industry is a definite advantage
•Knowledgeable in project start-ups, product estimation, and cost management
•Team player
•Strong time management and organizational skills
