Job description:
The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of the project according to project documents to achieve project’s outputs, results and impact of the project.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
– Effective planning and implementation of project activities
– Staff management and capacity development
– Project management responsibilities
– Coordination, representation and partnering
– Promote implementation of cross-cutting issues and learning

 

Qualifications Required
– A graduate degree in Rural Development, Agricultural Economics or related field;
– Previous work experience with NGOs and managing teams in a rural context;
– Minimum 5 years relevant experience managing rural development projects, including working with private sector companies in the agricultural sector
– Experience with market assessments/value chain development/agro-business/market systems;
– Demonstrated results-based management capabilities with an ability to manage programmes, budgets and human resources efficiently;
– Ability to multi-task and focus on day-to-day tasks while also working towards longer-term objectives with an understanding that these will change continuously;
– Demonstrated flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm as well as a willingness to learn and to adapt within a dynamic and often self-directed working environment;
– Excellent communication, facilitation and analytical skills, and leadership capabilities;
– Ability and willingness to travel extensively and spend much time in the field;
– Proficiency in English and computer literacy;
– Knowledge of the geographical area and local language is an advantage;
– Must be able to start work immediately.
